Flexdex Clear 29 Skateboard

The crystal Clear29 Flexdex proves that harmony can emerge when style and function come together as one. The only skateboard of its kind, the Clear29 rides with the same intensity that Flexdex has come to be known for, with an aesthetic appeal that has never been duplicated, better yet seen anywhere else. A highly versatile shape, this skateboard can ride anywhere and catches attention everywhere.

The Clear29 is one of the most flexible boards in the 2006 line-up and soaks up road vibrations like a sponge. Pumping, cruising or shredding, there is no end to how much energy this board produces. Clear as glass, the rider can literally watch the asphalt go by through the Clear29 deck like a window to the road. Blinged out with 8" High Response Gullwing MissionTrucks, 1/2" Vibra Soft risers, 66mm Desperados ABEC5 racing bearings, the Clear29 is one seductive ride.

People always ask "What's the clear all about?". Well, smooth riding and the feel of a larger board. I tell guys it's a chick magnet. I tell the girls that it's the easiest board to ride - and that guys will ask you if they can ride it. Seriously - it's one of the most fun skateboards you'll ever ride. It's so smooth you'll just keep skating, and it feels like a board 12" longer than it really is! Surf Champs like Frieda Zamba in FL ride one to stay in shape. It is not specifically a guy or girl board. It's just fun. That's what we sell. Fun. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Aesthetics and a unique pressure response bring the Clear29 into a class all its own. The unique, crystal clear, material that comprises the Clear29 carries with its own set of inherent qualities.

First the board has a very soft and responsive flex. With deep flexing in hard carves, this board has pop, yet lacks any unwanted spring back.

Secondly, the Clear29's deck material has an amazing level of vibration absorption. Coupled with the soft risers, the Clear29 is very forgiving on curb drops and on less than smooth terrain, softening out sidewalk gaps and potholes with ease.

The Clear29 provides a substantial tail for board lifting maneuvers. The boards rails are gently beveled, allowing a great sense of where the deck edge lies beneath your feet without requiring aggressive pressure when the deck rails are laid into. Also, the board's width allows for a extremely stable platform for reliable drifts. Changing of foot stance is a matter of ease with the placement of the trucks.

Though the deck itself is clear, its not the least bit fragile. It takes shots with all the rugged nature you would expect from Flexdex. There truly is something mystical about laying out smooth, slashing carves on the Clear29 and seeing the world flow by, underneath your feet.

I am writing to you guys to let you know of the rekindled passion I have for pounding the concrete with my old flexdex clear 29 board. Back in 2005/2006 I really got heavily involved into longboarding. Before that, I had never been able to ride a normal skateboard, but the way these boards ride helped me get my balance and before I knew it I was taking on some ridiculous hills and learning everything I could about skateboards. My interest, courage, and balls grew eventually to taking on pool skating. There was nothing like it. I went to the pool scene because I was too afraid to take on big hills after two friends both received concussions and broken arms. Little did I know that was all part of skating. So as a pussy skater I just wanted the thrill of surfing, and living in North Texas, the best thing I could do was take it to the pool. I am not good, not even average, I just ride around feeling that concrete underneath my skin as if it was the ocean. It was too much fun while it lasted. After collecting all the knowledge, settling on average riding skills, and spending too much for too many boards I decided to get back to working, and for the next 3 years thats all I did, work. But before I hung up the decks, I decided to dive in and get the most beautiful board I had ever laid eyes on, my baby, the flexdex clear 29, which I added just some normal 83a wheels and had to put on Randall R2 180's on. It was perfect. If not the smoothest riding board ever, it is definitely the most bad-ass, beautiful, awe-inspiring board I have ever had the pleasure to ride on. But alas, it was short lived. My baby never saw any hills or took any scratches, not even a nick was seen. I just couldn't bring myself to ruin her. And so she sat, waiting for three whole fucking years.

Now, being laid off thrice this past year has been devastating. With no money and a pile of debt, what is one to do? Well I got into a short program where I can be licensed to take x-rays and I actually finish next week, kudos to me. Hopefully this will be a stable job and not one that I put my heart into only to be laid off after a few months.

To get back on track, I have obviously had a shitload of down time to burn. And walking the dogs every other hour kind of gets old. So this story gets interesting with my best friend calling me and saying in the most excited voice ever, "Tommy! I want a LONGBOARD!" Coming out of left field I shot back, "Well, how much do you want to spend, what color, what kind of ride, what size?" He had know idea what I was talking about and told me he was only just inspired by his Hawaiian friend (who had came to visit) to ride, what he thinks is called, a "longboard". The next day he came over and we immediately set out on getting his legs used to actually riding a board. After a few hours of only riding up and down my street, he was determined, and asked for my help in building a good quality board. He shouldn't have, because I then commenced a speech that lasted another hour. All I could tell him was to not waste his money on anything else but a flexdex board. Inferencing only information I have read and studied on your website, and a little from what I learned about riding my own board, I have set him on his path to a better world, a flexdex world. It's a beautiful thing to be able to help my friend get out on that street. Hopefully you will be hearing from him shortly, he's wanting something huge so I told him of your 60 board coming out soon and the deal you have going on with that. And hopefully soon enough we will be taking on Texas's hills together.

IN short, this was a fucking long email that I hope makes some sense. Basically, I haven't ridden my flexdex clear 29 board in three years, picked it up recently, and am amazed and ashamed that I haven't been riding it my whole life. It's a great board, a great ride and a great feeling that permeate every inch of it's clear beauty. To be honest, great is NOT the word to describe your boards, best isn't either, heavenly is close, but I really don't think there is a word for your board, I mean after all, it's all about the ride. The ride is the one thing that sets your boards apart from every other one, and I hope that I can share my ride with every one I know, just to pass the word along, there is no other board except a flexdex board.

thanks for reading this whoever you are, you probably have more important things to do like selling more boards, but I just had to drop a line your way. if you guys are getting effected by this horrible economy I feel for you, three lay-offs later, I really do feel for you, but I also hope you realize that your boards are on a whole other level, and every rider who gets a flexdex board will know that, and thank you for that.

So thank you.

-tommy
