R&D Design Engineer

Job Description:

To help realize our vision, we are looking to hire an experienced R&D Design Engineer with a strong background in product development, mechanical systems, and manufacturing. The candidate must have a strong understanding of processes related to design, prototype, testing, transfer of designs to manufacturing, V&V testing, and project management. In addition, experience and understanding of quality management systems is essential.

Minimum requirements for the job include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent

  • Minimum 1-3 years of full-time product design and development experience

  • Strong teamwork, initiative, and communication skills is must

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, drawing creation, GD&T, and other product development tools

  • Self-driven, passionate for technology innovation, motivated to work with a fast-paced team, and strong desire to make an impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals such as statics, dynamics, and materials.

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering/design principles in linkages, transmissions, cable drives, cams, pulleys, shafts, fasteners, structures, etc. will be a plus

  • Strong hands-on mechanical skillset and understanding of prototyping and test techniques

  • Broad knowledge of injection molding, machining, MIM, and assembly processes

  • Sound design insight, technical judgement, and problem-solving skills in mechanical systems

  • Technical writing experience (reports, protocols, work instructions)

  • Project management mindset to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

  • Experience with the product development life cycle

  • Familiarity working within a Quality Management System (ISO 13485 & ISO 9001)

  • Experience with electrosurgical equipment will be a plus
